Great Reads!

Are you looking for a good book to read? Here, I will describe to you three of my favorite popular books in literature. They deserve many raving reviews and press releases in their honor.

Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984), by George Orwell- Also author of the popular political novel Animal Farm, George Orwell is unafraid to take great risks in writing. 1984 is a dystopian novel frighteningly written as the future and what it holds for us. He creates this imaginary world of “negative utopia,” and it is rather convincing, which scares readers to death. Why this book is still so popular today, is that it is written about a power, one that prosecutes free thinking and individualism (as well as many other atrocious things), that constantly becomes more life-like as we move forward through time.

The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho - As one of the best-selling books in history, The Alchemist is an inspiring, life-transforming book that everyone should read! After having dreams of a treasure in the desert of Egypt, an Andalusian shepherd boy starts out on his journey toward these worldly goods. Although, what he learns and discovers along the way, through following his heart and meeting special beings, is what proves to be the ultimate treasure. Awe-inspiring, this book will encourage you to listen to your heart, follow omens, and set off on a life-changing journey of your own!

Walden, by Henry David Thoreau - An all time classic, written by one of the greatest transcendentalists of all time, Henry David Thoreau. Walden was written after spending 2 years at Walden Pond in Massachusetts, on land owned by his mentor, Ralph Waldo Emerson, as a reflection of his spirit, thoughts, and ideas on living simply. This book is a product of  not only Thoreau’s declaration of independance, but of his social experiments and adventure is spiritual discovery. It is looked at by some as a manual to self reliancy.
